New Sale! We're LOADED!!!!

Sale of the week: 50% off Selected Lamps, Headboards and Rugs

Useful tip of the week: How to Create a Cohesive Color Flow Throughout Your Home

Color preferences vary as much as personalities, some love bright and the bold, while others feel more secure surrounded by neutrals. One simple way to create a cohesive feel is to use a consistent paint color on the walls of connecting spaces. For example, if your home is more of an open floor plan, it's best to choose one color that is going to serve as your main color of your neutral. One way to increase the likelihood that a color scheme flows from room to room is to limit yourself to colors in the same temperature family. Some will stick to a warm color palette-- reds, oranges and yellows, other to a cool color scheme-- greys, greens and blues. Rooms out of the sight-line of other rooms are good places for going wild. Master bedrooms, powder rooms, kids rooms, and any other room encapsulated by four wall are great places to indulge. Have fun picking out your color scheme.

Useful tip of the week:Designer Shortcuts That Work

Every interior designer has go-to tricks. Here are some foolproof ideas that can solve many of your design dilemmas. A corner is often forgotten, so if your ever have a free space add a lively leafy green plant. Having attractive stacks of books on hand gives you the tools to correct endless little decor  dilemmas. Use a few books to add height where needed and achieve a perfect symmetry. If your space is feeling a little too traditional try to bring in a few clear elements, either in modern materials or in chunky shapes. Technology items are often tricky due to it changing so much. For a modern approach, turn your media wall into a display area, tucking away tech boxes in cabinets or on open shelves among artwork, candles and heirlooms. Try to use a wireless TV transmitter for your TV to avoid a mess of cables. A throw blanket gives your room a sense of life, casual elegance and a dash of color or texture. If you try one of these shortcuts please upload a photo to Facebook and tag us!

Useful tip of the week: The Joy of Taking Risks in Design

Popular decorating wisdom recommends keeping your major investments pieces like sofas and cabinetry neutral, but sometimes it's just plain fun to take risks. Combining different shades and hues of a single color is a popular design move in monochromatic schemes, but it becomes bold and original when you layer two very different blues, with two very different reds and accents with a range of neutrals from taupe to black and white. Stairs are an oft-overlooked place to take a chance with design. They're a great way to experiment with wall paper or carpet as they are small, contained spaces devoid of furniture and other elements that compete with an unexpected floor or wall treatment. A transparent coffee table lightens the visual load and keeps the focus on any statement-making sofas or colorful accent furniture pieces. Have fun and take some risks!

New Furniture Now Available!!!

Now is a great time to add those special unique furniture pieces! Stop by and see all the breathtaking pieces we received this week.

Useful tip of the week: Ways To Make A Statement Piece Work In Your Home

If you've got your eye on a piece of furniture you absolutely love but it's a bit of a statement-maker, don't be afraid to buy it. Figure out what type of piece it is and try combining it with opposites. If you're trying to let one piece be a statement, keep other things smaller or less ornate and let it stand out on its own. Try to avoid having similar items in the room. When incorporating a piece of furniture forget about matching everything. If your statement piece has a pattern on it, don't be afraid to combine it with other patterned accents. For example, a large pattern like a bold stripe pairs best with a smaller print. Take a step back and make sure that what you're seeing is what you really want to stand out. If you're looking for your statement piece to really up the wow factor make sure it's a main part of the room like a sofa, bed, console, etc.

Useful tip of the week: How to Wow Your Guests With a Dramatic Dining Room

Create a space that's filled with decorating drama! What better space than your dining room. Whether your dining area is open-plan style or includes the kitchen, think like a set designer. Add some decadent touches to stimulate the senses and create a cocoon where guests will want to linger and chat well into the night. A mirrored wall can be a great way of achieving a dramatic effect as well as giving the illusion of more space. Think beyond the two-dimensional when it comes to your wall art. For a big impact, try giant illuminated letters. Be bold with lighting and think theatrical! Opt for multiple eye-catching pendant lights suspended at different heights. Add a statement sideboard for that added dramatic display as well as extra storage. The dining table is the star of the show, so consider materials other than wood for that added wow!

On Going Headboard Sale!!!

Sale of the week: 25% off Headboards Only

Useful tip of the week: How to choose the right size rug

Not sure what's the right size rug for your space? Here are some helpful tips on choosing your rug. If you have a large room with furniture floating in the center, a rug should be big enough so that the furniture fits completely on top without feeling cramped. When you have furniture against the wall, aim to have the front two legs of all the furniture on the rug. If you have a small living room a smaller rug can be used under the coffee table or to define specific seating areas. For your dining area the table and chairs should all rest on the rug, just remember you need 24" extending beyond each side of the table to avoid chairs going off the rug when pushed back. Come in today to check out all the low priced rugs we received!

Useful tip of the week: How to Arrange Artwork

Have you bought artwork lately but don't know quite how to arrange it? Here are some great tips on how to make it work. A linear configuration works well with pieces that are the same size and are framed with the exact same frame. Arranging them in a grid works great especially for collections with numerous pieces. Artwork arranged in a cluster configuration is ideal for various sizes and with various frame finishes. A salon style is characterized by a floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall frenzy of artwork hung tightly together. If you like to change your artwork frequently try the shelf approach or break all the rules and arrange them in a butterfly theme. However, without the right subject, this approach is hard to successfully achieve. Have fun hanging your artwork.

How To Decorate A Large Wall

New Markdowns 50% off Selected Items

Useful tip of the week: Hot to decorate a large wall

If you have a large wall and don't know how or what to decorate it with, here are some tips that will help you get started. Forget all that flat artwork and try hanging decorative woven baskets in various sizes and colors. A layered pair of over-sized letters, make a big statement anywhere you put them. Create a graphic statement wall by painting it a base color then taping off sections and paint over it with a contrasting color for a unique geometric print. Instead of just hanging art on the wall try propping it up with decorative wall sconces, shelves, or brackets. If you're a hat lover with a collection, show them off by hanging them on the wall with wall hooks. If you want a subtle but sophisticated change try wall paneling using 4-to-6 inch-wide pieces and arranging them in a grid pattern, then paint them a rich color. Above all have fun and make it your own.

Useful tip of the week: Step out of your decor comfort zone

Have you been making the same decorating choices for as long as you can remember? Now is the time to breakout and move past your comfort zone. Dining room chairs are perhaps the most frustrating things to buy. There are many factors into buying dining chairs such as cost, will they match your table, will the height work, etc... These are some tips that will help you narrow down your choices. Most designers will use chairs that do not match your table, instead they will use chairs that compliment your table. If you're going for a country look and have an oak table try white chairs. If you have a dark table try acrylic chairs. An antique table would look great with rattan chairs. A traditional table with upholstered chairs looks fabulous. Bench seating has become very popular. Try using a bench on one side this will allow you to squeeze in a couple more people. Make sure that whatever you choose suits your needs!

How to Choose the Perfect Coffee table:

Whether it's round, square, glass, wood, or metal a living room without a coffee table is like a dining table without chairs. Selecting the right coffee table can be tricky. Here are some tips to keep in mind when choosing your coffee table. Distance from the edge of the sofa to the edge of the table should be 18 inches. The height of your coffee table is key and should be about one or two inches lower than your sofa seat. If you have small children consider an oval or round table, since sharp corners and kids don't mix. Wood brings warmth to any space. Glass tables are less bulky and are easier to wipe down. Try a metal coffee table but don't mix metals. Make sure when selecting a coffee table it suits your needs and your style.
